Audio Noise when using Glove Box Cigarette Power

I had the BMW dealer get the 12v adapter working in the glove box (for some reason it wasn't there) and bought the BMW Auxiliary Power Adapter which fits into the square receptacle in the glove box.

When powering a Bluetooth Audio Gateway (Belkin) and plugging into the AUX port, there is a lot of noise that is passed through on the audio(or even just when the head unit is on AUX and no audio is playing).

When using the cigarette adapter near the shifter there is NO noise - so it is something specific to the glove box power.

Is there a solution to filter the noise from the 12v in the glove box?
Secondly, is there a way (Code or other)to have the 12v near the shifter power off when the vehicle is turned off?

Thanks,
Dan Foxley
