Another ABS problem..

Hello again,

Beat to death topic but, The X is now giving off -Brake, DSC, ABS- lights.
Also, MPH meter died but came back to life for a while (still is)

Whats wrong? I'm thinking a faulty speed sensor?

Hmmm, don;t know much about those things, but with the lights on the dash, just for the hell of it. Try; with the X on, turn the wheel all the way to the left, then all the way right then back to center and see if that does anything? My situation was totally different from your, but I had those same lights. Code throws off a Steering angle sensor. Doesn't hurt? In the meanwhile, I am sure JCL, Weasel, Kill Crap and the others are going to reply and ANSWER your question in 3... 2... 1............

When I had a wheel position / speed sensor go bad I had these same dash light indications. Once the sensor was replaced everything was good. There should be error codes that tell the mechanic what is triggering the dash warning indicators.

You can buy a sensor off ebay, but there are four of them. If the speedometer was out, that is a good bet that it is the left rear sensor. If the speedo isn't out, could be any of them AFAIK.

If you get the codes read, it will point you in the right direction. Always better to diagnose it before randomly replacing parts, IMO.

If you buy a sensor, great, but you may end up trying it in four locations, and it could be something else, like the steering angle sensor, the ABS controller, the wiring harness, etc.

Hmm interesting.. Is there a reader i can buy that will show codes like this or is it indy/dealer only tech? (would a peak reader find the problem?)

@TwinTurboGTR: Hehe yup, good deal and the story is one to surely tell. Funny thing is they got another and posted it at the price they wanted to sell ours at.. no movement.. karma.
