crackling noise on radio

hi does anyone have an idea what causes crackling noise when radio and even cd is on, does not do it all the time but can varey in noise ! today crackling even when radio/cd was off so only way to stop noise was to remove 30a fuse.
is it the amp or is there something else to check? (2004 x5)

I had the same problem, it was water in the wheel well where the amp and BT is, I took them out and sprayed it with something similar to WD-40 and it works now, (as directed by weasel).

thanks, i have checked in boot well and all seams dry, do you think it could just be moisture/condensation inside the amp..........did you open up the amp to spray it?

Yes I did, there was moisture in the connection too, water was dripping onto it and caused some corrosion, but after spraying it with the moisture remover (WD40), it worked great.

Left rear tire wheel well. Open the rear hatch and left access panel. That is where the amp and Bluetooth are located.

ok i sprayed the wheel well amp, and all its components but the noise is still there, i also pick up a new fuse 30amp #72 but the noise wont go away ... any idea what next... this problem stated after i changed my alternator, , please can anyone help.
