Welcome!! You said you bought it for your wife, I hope your job doesn't require you to travel out of town frequently. Most guys here are the driver and feel better having the X5 as their daily driver, I'm the same. Do a search and you will see lots of posts where the X5 stranded the wife and kids by the side of the road, not once but several times.

Unhappy

Geez, kinda scared we bought this thing now. I should have done some research before buying. After reading some threads, I probably would have thought about it a little more.

I wouldn't want my wife or kid stranded.

My other BMWs were pretty reliable. An occasional electrical issue here or there.

Maybe I was lucky?

Ahhee don't worry about getting stranded that could happen in any car. You will love the X, better yet your wife will love the X. It's a tank and very safe choice for your family. My X only left me stranded once in 308,000 miles and thats because my transmission finally decided to die. Enjoy and welcome to the club. This site will be a very useful resource for you. And everybody like to help one another.
