3.0D replacement Turbo options (New, Recon, 3rd Party)

I need a new Turbo as my indy gave me three options.

1. BMW Turbo €1,890.oo
2. Garrett Turbo €1,200.oo
3. Reconditioned Turbo €800.oo

All have very different prices, and all come with a 1 year warranty, I just wanted to know what types of Turbos are available?

From what I have read the Garrett Turbo is the original equipment manufacturer but are there any other manufacturers that have this part and are they even worth looking at.

What does my indy mean by a BMW turbo? does he mean he will order it from BMW instead of a third party supplier or is the Garrett Turbo not the Turbo supplied by BMW?

At the moment I am siding on getting a reconditioned Turbo (Which I was told would be an original BMW Turbo).

Please help I have to get back to the dealer today.
