I'm in the UK, I ran German-style plates on my E36 for a while and quite liked them. Not sure if I feel the urge to do similar with my X5 though

These are extremely RARE! The last time I checked they were $1700+ through BMW and there were only 9 available in Germany. Now RealOEM shows them as being discontinued. I bought mine from a fellow member here. Good luck.

With or without euro plates?

With and without.... a visual to help you decide.

I agree, i do think they are a tasteful mod. Although I wouldnt dare drill holes in my front bumper if it wasnt absolutely necessary. i use 3m poster strips to put mine on for shows, they come off clean and easily and can hold up to some heavy airflow even on the highway.

Beware i do this knowing that the plate might fly off at any minute. Not approved for maxing the x5 at 137+

I'm pretty sure they do not.

I'm pretty sure that no one has duplicated an underride protection bar. It is fairly substantial, somewhat complicated and well built. It connects to the frame and is chrome plated. Your best bet is to ask around... It took me about 6 months to locate mine. If I had it to do over and new ones were still available, I would have avoided all the hassles, saved a ton of time by simply ordering it through BMW. IMHO full price for the differance it makes in the appearance is worth it... Rare and not much of a chance to see yourself (or an imposter) at a stoplight.

But don't take my word for it; Contact your dealer, maybe (by chance) there's still one out there.

thats a nice black X you have there. The scuff plate really stands out. how much is it from the stealer and how much were you able to get it on your own?

Underride

New at the stealer, the underride protection is about $1700... although I can understand the value after seeing how well it is made and the exclusiveness it offers. I received mine (used) and got it installed for a little under $1000... It didn't come with a complete mounting kit (the kit is included if you order it through the stealer), so I had to fabricate my own. Although it looks great, it had been on another vehicle for several mines and has some wear underneath. It's a trade off.

Thank you Naz24 for this compliment;
