And now that I'm back from CVS with a scale I can answer my own original question on how much the stock mufflers and resonator weigh on a 4.8is.
Each muffler weighs in at exactly 20 lbs. That's the muffler's weight with only about an inch of pipe left. The resonator tipped the scale at 18 lbs. Again with only about an inch of pipe sticking out each end. So that's 40 lbs. removed from the very rear of the vehicle and replaced with 2 lbs. (1 lb each) exhaust tips, and 18 lbs. removed from the center and replaced with 9 lbs. of muffer. Net loss of 47 lbs almost all from the very rear of the truck. Doesn't seem like much, but that's about a third of a tank of gas...or three Big Macs...
