In gunmetal ,they look even better

CiscO,
Its good idea ,what you are attempting to do.This way you dont have the trouble + expense of having yours re-painted.Hope you find someone whose wheels are as in good shape as yours.thats very important

So if the majority jumped off a cliff I can assume you would be close to the front of the line? The 87 is nothing but a 5 spoke, or as we called them back in the 80's, a 5 star wheel, nothing unique or special about it at all.

Do you know me from anywhere or have I even addressed or offended you?NO!!So get off your high horse and then jump off a cliff.Even better, why dont you try to give some useful contribution to the thread ,instead of spoiling it for others.
From you unnecessary and stupi* comment, let me enhance my previous post. Majority ,being most of the members !Check the polls! Most members prefer the 87s...including the OP!
Minority,is people like you ,who have no regard to other peoples opinions ,only your own !You remarks about the 87s ,just about says it all.
Enough said....!Just read the other members replies and accept the others opinions

Apparently you didn't read his post. It said the Style 87's are regarded as the best looking wheels for an E53 - nothing about unique or special

**

I'm of the same opinion. The solid, full, clean look of the 87 is the best factory rim option.

Dont take any notice on romeokc10 remarks! He is concentrating on offending people, rather than contributing with relevant information ,to the OP thread!
He started on me ,now he has gone further and picked on Mrbmwx5.
Going back on topic now,as can be read by the opinions 87s are indeed the favorite wheel here,(either that or most of us like to be jumping off a cliff.),
The question here is what colour is best?Original silver or dark grey/black?Again ,it seems most like both ,so its a matter of personal taste!I think the OP had a great idea and I hope he pulls it off

I see he has continued.... no worries i will not entertain. this isn't some teenage forum where we want to bait eachother into internet arguments. Grow up.

Mrbmw i'm with ya, if he pulls it off great idea. my 87's are starting to get some clear coat problems from weathering and wear and tear. I'm now considering and looking for ways to improve them, ideally with a black or gun metal painting. Just not sure if I want to invest the money in professional powder coating or go for a DIY method

As always wheels are 99% about personal taste. I've customized many vehicles and new shoes are always high on the list. Some like, some don't. heck for that matter some look great in the box and not so great bolted on
