Nooow my radio stopped working! Help!?

So about two months ago my nav unit started acting funny (opening and closing by itself) then it began to shut off after 5 min.

I shipped it to NJ where I found this guy on eBay that repaired it for $180 + $30 shipping.

Just when things were going smooth, I realized that the orange light that comes on with the radio is turned off and will not respond to the button being pushed to turn it back on. All the buttons on the left side of the MK4 do no work either but the Nav works (without sound) and the On board computer also works.

Looks like all sound has been turned off. I searched the forums and online but there doesn't seem to be anyone that may have the fix.

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm thinking it's the board in the head unit. Probably has a dry joint or something has gone bad. I'm trying to avoid sending it from CA to NJ again. I'd appreciate any input you guys may have!
