Chrome Grills

I've been looking at the chrome grills mod as this looks quick and cheep & makes a nice difference to the front of the car.
Seems there are three types:

1.) Stick on chrome plastic pieces cut to size - there seems to be a debate over whether these last or not.
2.) Chrome replacement grills (OEM) - complete unit(s) which swap out with the existing grills. Cost a small fortune from the stealer.
3.) Replacement grills (non OEM) - same as 2.) but typically found on fleabay. Ones I`ve got my eye on are by bavarian_motorwerks but read one thread where they didn't fit a pre-facelift model very well (slightly too small)

Anyone else fitted the ones from bavarian_motorwerks to a pre-facelift model - Do they fit properly?

------------
X5 2003 3.0D
Mods (so far):
ECU remap
7" Veba screens in rear headrests & 6disk DVD changer. FM transmitter on DVD out to play through business radio.

Mods to come:
Parrot Bluetooth phone & GPS kit
Chrome grills
Chrome dash rings
Angel eyes
Zenon 6000K HID kit

Initially I was thinking chrome as I've got a Titanium silver X5, having said that the Titanium ones look great if not better. Its going on a 2003 model (pre-facelift).
I'd certainly be interested in the Titanium grill if you've got that going spare, and contribute towards the beer fund of course..

I got my grills from Bavarien motorwerks(who also supplied me the excellent Aluminium gauge rings)and the quality and fitting is excellent.I was disappointed with my grills and took them off because I bought for "wide look",which was what they were advertising(and so are a lot of other people!),but in fact these grills actually look smaller than my oem black grills.
Btw, the oem Titanium grills are an alternative and are about the same price.

Couple of months have passed now and altough the grills are same size ,I now think they look better and might put them on my X as a Xmas presy!

Have a look at the pictures of my x with the grills in the link below.(mine is the green one on page 2)

I think I see what you mean, the vertical 'slats' on the grill are angled on one of the shots of the silver X5 (facelift model) which makes the front look awesome !

I would prefer this 'wide' look also but not sure if they do these type of grills for a pre-facelift model ?

Thats the whole point! They all advertise "wide look" grills but they dont exist! Also the wide facelifted grills will NOT fit older X5s!
