I'm not sure what you're asking. That is a BMW part. Bosch may be the OEM, but it was manufactured exclusively for BMW, and sold through BMW. Bosch wouldn't sell a part like that on their website, or to the public in general. You can purchase it from your local dealer or from many online BMW parts retailers, such as ECS Tuning. It's available for about $250-$300 USD, depending on where you order it from.

Mind if I ask why you need the entire air box? Is it cracked or something? May be better to repair the one you have if possible, instead of having one shipped to your country.

You are referring to part #1 in the below diagram, correct?

RealOEM.com * BMW E53 X5 4.4i Intake muffler

Yes I figured I would have to buy from BMW and pay out of my ass for it ha ha. Yes the pic as per your Link is the part i need. I bought my X5 in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. I moved to Borneo and had my X5 shipped over then trucked to where I live near Brunei. The problem is my X5 was chopped for parts somewhere along the way before coming back to me. One day I had a great car two weeks later on delivery it was fucked. I have spent over $20k trying to repair it over 6 mths. There is no BMW Workshop in my town and the nearest one is 1500km away. I don't trust the car to drive it that far so I have to use a non BMW Workshop. When there is a problem The car goes in when it comes out within a month there is a new problem. I just replace the transmission that cost me 11k. The control unit had my cover and Chasis number but the actual unit inside was a different serial number and the unit was u/s. I have had the car back for 1 week now and yesterday the car started shaking and jerking in first gear and i got Engine failsafe program and the car wouldnt come out of first gear and the engine was shaking like elvis presley. The mechanics here don't trouble shoot the just repair the problem!!The Air filter box is cracked so I have to bite the bullet and buy one from BMW. I better sell this car it is costing me to much and before to long the repair cost will worth the market value. Very disappointed and frustrated and can do nothing about it. :-(

Wow, that's crazy... So sorry to hear all that :/

Can you fix the crack with some epoxy, like JB Weld? As long as it's sealed in the side that's after the filter, you're good to go. And unless you have a leak beyond the MAF, it shouldn't effect the way the engine runs.

Thanks I Think that is the best way to do it. The MAF sensor I am using is a Mercedes one. The mechanic said they are made by the same manufacture as BMW it is just the price is cheaper!! And it seems to do the job ok. I think my latest problem is some thing to do with that system I think there is a leak some where along the line. But I could be wrong. Time to throw more money to these incompetent assholes

Was the vehicle ever tuned to run on the Mercedes MAF or did they just plug it in (although the plug should be different... so they likely had to splice a Mercedes plug in too)? It can probably run 100% with that MAF, but it needs to be tuned.

The MAF is the standard Bosch one. The sensor was simply plugged into that. My mechanic used to be with BMW in Singapore. Now he has his own workshop where he works on Ferrari, Porshe, Lexus, BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar etc.He told me the sensor manufacture make these sensors for BMW and Mercedes the specs are the same so they can work in either Brand for a M62 V8 1999 - 2003. CHEAPER FOR ME REGULATES THE AIR FLOW FOR THE FUEL SYSTEM. NO PROBLEMS

According to my information the sensors might physically be the same but the calibration may be different, if you look here on our site you will find the Bosch X5 M62 4.4 Air Mass Sensor. If you note the application guide it does not apply to any Mercedes Benz vehicles, our application guides follow manufactures guide lines.

A for your air box, we have the stock air box for the M62 found in the X5 available here. With cost in mind you might want to look at an aftermarket intake system such as an aFe intake system.

Let me know if I can help you further,

ECS Tuning

I'm not sure what you mean by just the sensor. A MAF is a sensor, it's a 3.5" tube with the sensor built in. And your engine harness has a connector that plugs into in to the sensor, which is proprietary to our cars. So even if they gutted the tube and took the actual sensor from a Mercedes, and it happened to be the same calibration as ours, it would still need the connector spliced in to your harness.

Unless I'm missing something...

I thought the same thing, I don't know any other vehicle that uses the Bosch 814 MAF besides BMW & Range Rover vehicles with the m62.
