Looking to buy a diagnostic scanner, any suggestions
Hello everyone,
I'm looking to buy my own diagnostic scanner for my 2002 4.4 X5 and any personal experience that anyone would like to pass on would be greatly appriciated. |

Do you happen to have an Android phone? The Torque application works really well. I use it with a bluetooth OBDII reader on my '02 X5 and other cars, works great. Can pull codes and clear them plus a whole lot more functionality. The application gets updated regularly.
Good luck whatever you get. |

My apologies... I completely overlooked your question. I use a PLX Kiwi BT adapter that I got from Amazon. Works flawlessly every time and updates/refreshes data very fast, which some of the cheaper ELM-based adapters can't do.

i recently bought the peake code reader from ecs shipped think it was $157, $139 with free shipping, i needed it fast. Wish i would have bought it 2 years ago. Without going thru the whole story with bmw dealership it has already saved me a lot of money.

I too have a Peake tool. It's specifically for BMW. That's my recommendation. |

I also use the tourqe with Android, and just a super cheap reader (20$) form here:
OBDII Bluetooth Car Diagnostic Cable - Black + Blue + Orange (DC 12V) - Free Shipping - DealExtreme the tourqe software is very good I think and more info here: Torque — OBD2 Performance and Diagnostics for your Vehicle |
