If my thoughts are right, im in the same situation as you are.. The prev. owner before me had to of fixed the speedo and effed up, all 4 needles are uneven, but work properly.
VDO repair quoted me $130 for new motors and labor, im just waiting on them to msg me when he motors are in stock.

My needles were dead. I also tested them which showed open short(s) within the motor assembly.
The only problem with going to the cheaper repair places (like the ones on Ebay) is they do not use OE BMW parts to fix it. They use the least expensive parts they can find. They also don't have a good guarantee policy. North Hollywood Speedo is more expensive but you get what you pay for. |
