jimsi is on a distinguished road
looking at a 02 3.0 and have a few??

Hi all,

I'm looking at an 02 x5 with 56000 kms(I'm a Canadian eh ) and had a couple of questions that you may be able to answer instead of calling the dealership up.

1. Is $33k-$35k ($28k-30k USD) for the unit a good price (interior and exterior are in exellent condition) on a private sale

2. The inservice date was Feb 02 and I know that I can transfer the orignal warranty. Is the 02 x5 warrant 4/50 (or equivalent in Canada) and can I purchase the upgrade to 6/100 MP being the third owner?

3.Is the coverage for the 6/100 MP as good as a CPO purchase from the dealership, for an equivalent model year and mileage?

The reasoning I have on this private vs a dealership sale is that in Canada we have a lovely tax called the GST. If I were to buy the car privately I would not have to pay an extra 7% tax and the CPO equivalent at the dealership is about $5k more.
