The part number is correct according to the H-R website in Germany. Seems you accidentally got a box with the wrong material in it. These spacers are specifically made and approved for the e53. I have been running mine for year and nothing has ever broken or sheared.

You are indeed correct on the shallower spacer bolts. They look like they really are designed to hold the spacer to the hub and not the wheel to the spacer. A good part of me do think I may have gotten the wrong hardware inside the right box. Because the reverse installation doesn't make sense and seems unsafe to me. The two sets you have, did the bolts that came with the spacers thread onto the hub and the factory bolts to the spacer successfully? James (ECS) You are our link to H&R at this point in correcting the confusion. Please keep us posted because I will hold off installing the spacers until there's adequate clarification. If it is indeed a misboxed batch then 1tymz is also in need of a corrected order. This is turning out to be a cluster. ..... MANGO |

Mango - H&R stamps the part numbers on the spacers. This is because in Germany cars have to go in for periodic safety inspections and inspectors have to be able to identify the spacers and verify the application status. In same cases the fact that the car has spacers is part of the registration document!
But I digress, the same part number on the box should be stamped on the edge of the ring. If it does coincide it is a simple case of mistaken identy. If there is no number then there is a more serious problem. Good Luck.

What you mentioned above prior, do both of the sets you have mount the spacers to the hub using the silver (smaller) bolts that came with the spacer and the factory bolts are able to thread onto the spacer to hold the wheel? MANGO |

Yes, the silver ones bolt the spacer to the hub and the original bolts hold the wheel to the spacer.

I keep getting "Internal Server Error" in trying to upload photos as part of a show and tell to help this thread out. Anyone know what gives or someone kind enough to upload them for me?
Thanks MANGO |

I'm waiting to here back on the official word. I'll keep yall updated the second I have confirmation one way or the other.
update: Just figured I'd give a quick up date on MANGO s situation. It turned out there was an error in the packaging of his spacers.

I just swapped out my winter 18" setup for my summer 20" style 87's but I could not get one of the H&R spacers off. I removed 9 of the 10 bolts but one bolt is so stuck it cracked 2 impact sockets trying to get it off.
I swamped it with P&B Blaster. Any ideas how to get this one bolt loose? I really don't need spacers in the summer, I like being able to use my wheel locks on my 87's
