I have one dead remote key and one that works. Sounds like I better replace the dead one in case the lock drum goes bad.
Something else to worry about.
Why didn't the BMW dealer offer to make you a new remote from the serial number, give your credit card over the phone and have one of the lot attendants drive it out to you? I know this can be done for a Ford product... never tried with the BMW.
I guess there are security concerns with someone calling and claiming to be you.
