Mid display repair
First time post. I am the new owner of a 344k mile e53, just put a new engine in it.
So, I have the usual dead pixels on my MID or radio display, what ever you want to call it. I am planning to fix this myself, have been searching the forums. Found a walk though here And a few repair cable or ribbon cables like this one: eBay My question is that most of the replacement cables say to use a micro or t soldering iron. But looking at the walkthough and posts, I cannot figure out where or why I would need it. The cable looks like it is tape onto the one end and a friction fit with the foam piece on the lcd end... Oh, I have a 2001 x5 3.0 Any other walkthoughs or tips? |
