Question Strange clicking sound?!?

Hi all,
recently I noticed when the X is idle a small clicking/ticking sound every other second or so. you can only hear it or bearly hear it when the car is stopped and idling at a stop light for example. At first I thought it is something in the engine. I get out of the car open the hood but do not hear it anywhere, only when I sit inside the car.
So it kinda coming from the dash then - I turned off the heater and the sound stopped. I turn on again and it starts. It sounds like it is pumping water or something, very strange... What could it be?

If it stopped with the heater being turned off, then it sounds like it could be the motor that opens and closes the flap for outside and inside air circulation. Try it again, but switch from auto climate to manual. Try manually switching from inside recirc air, to outside air. See if the clicking stops.

Thanks. I will check later on. I always use manual control, never auto and my recirc is from outside at the moment only. Why does it sound like water moving or it is just the flap making such water sound?

http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/x5/...ode-p0505.html that flap is what's making the noise,it controls flow of air into engine.

Would the DISA stop ticking if he turns his heat off?

If it turns out to be this valve - how much does the part cost? I saw your link and it seems easy to replace.
