Put the mirror adjustment selector switch to other position and mirror dip on reverse is not active.

Sometimes it could be rewarding to read the owner's manual.

I find the reverse mirror dip useless. It points at what you just ran over vs what you could run over.

About 1/3 of the time I parallel park it's on the driver side so I set my 3 rd seat memory to dip both mirrors about half the angle down that BMW enginerds use and just tap 3 to aim both sides down when parallel parking. I leave the mirror switch on passenger side and it never auto dips.

andrewwynn, you must have far to much spare thinking time, what an excellent idea, the standard dip has crap positioning.

Didn't take more than a minute. I discovered pretty quickly the useless dip went away when I put the switch to passenger side, then I realized only two drivers use my car so I have a spare seat memory. It was immediately obvious to do both mirrors.

It doesn't hurt that I have euro style panoramic mirrors with zero blind spot
