Several trips between Dallas, TX and Spring Hill, FL, 1100 miles one way, 2 trips towing a 6000lb tandem axle box trailer. Bought my '03 X5 4.4 with 100k miles 18 months ago, has over 145k miles now.

Longest trip, 1.553 miles = 2.500 kilometers. Doing it again in about 3 days time, hope she holds together, my alternator (or so I'm told) is making a high pitch 'I have a supercharger installed but I don't', kind of sound...

and I wish!Decimal mark - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia 'Examples of use The following examples show the decimal mark and the thousands separator; the lists are ordered chronologically, by when each country adopted the use: In Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Slovenia and much of Europe: 1 234 567,89 or 1.234.567,89. In Australia, English Canada, Ireland, Israel, Japan, Korea (both), Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, the Philippines, the United Kingdom, and the United States: 1,234,567.89 or 1,234,567·89; the latter is more commonly found in older, and especially handwritten, documents.'

2-3 annual summer trips from NC to NJ, ~700 miles one way, and several annual migration trips from western NC to Naples, FL...~800 miles one way.
Even with ~80k miles on our '01, I wouldn't hesitate to get in it and go anywhere in the US. On those 'long distance away' cars, look at it hard, and maybe get a local poster here, or indie to look at it before you boogie all the way there, and have 2nd thoughts... GL, mD

I just bought my 4.8is in SoCal. and drove it 2255 miles to my driveway. We left Cali at 3:30 Friday and landed home at 4:30 Sunday. Over 2/3 of the trip was riddled with poor weather ranging from freezing rain to blizzard to extreme wind with ice and snow. The wife and I took turns driving. Our longest stop along the way was to have dinner in Denver with her cousin. Would I do it again? I say lets go! But I have to warn you, not everyone is as adventurous as we are...
