Just bought a set of OEM staggered style 87's!
Hey guys. I own a 2006 4.4i, jet black e53 and just bought an OEM set of style 87 wheels from getbmwparts.com (BMW of silver spring, MD). I'm looking for suggestions on a good set of all season tires as I live in the Washington DC metro area. I have heard nothing but bad things about the OEM Michelin Diamaris so I will stay away from those. I have heard good things about the michelin latitude tour hp, and continental extremecontact dws. Also heard good things about toyo proxes stii but that the road noise was unbearable so I'm unsure about those. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for all your help and I'm excited to join this forum!

I think you referring to the toyo proxes ST,I had those and yes road noise was bad,now I have the proxes ST II which are the new version and in my opinion they are great, snow, rain and shine.

I actually loved my Michelin Diamaris. Yes, they wore quickly and were loud, but you could really feel a difference with the way they hug the road. The stiff sidewall also made for less roll in turns. It wasn't until they were gone that I missed them!
I've heard great things about the Conti DWS. I actually wanted to buy them but the backorder was so long and far away that I opted for the Toyo STIIs. I obviously can't compare the two but let me shed some light on the Toyos as I have now put 10k miles on them. Toyo STII +: -Extremely quiet -Wear very well (I drive hard and after 10k miles mine still measure 8/32"!!) -Excellent in rain and shine -Good in snow (don't expect any AS tire to be better) -Aggressive look -Cheap! Mine were $830 shipped!! Toyo STII -: -Tread is not as wide as the Diamaris (they looked beast) -I personally think the tread design is very "boy racer" -A bit of lean in the turns (I'm guessing just a softer sidewall than the summer Diamaris I was used to) As you can see, the positives well outweigh the negatives. I would very highly recommend this tire, especially considering the price/mileage. -Cyrus

![]() Me too!!!! I am running the ToyoSTIIs now and can totally feel the difference. I will get the Diamari Lattitudes next time. Many complain on the forum but IMO they were awesome. Quote:

Conti DWS here. Great price, and a great tire. Quiet and seems to do the job in my 4.8is. I also make the car work whenever I am in it. So far I am happy with them. Haven't tried it in the snow yet, doubt I will though as I have a set of dedicated snow wheels and tires.

Thanks for all the advice fellas, I really appreciate it. Anyone else have 20" wheels and have a good set of all seasons to suggest? Thanks again for the above responses.

Hopefully I can find a place where the contis aren't back ordered ! I know several people have turned to other tires simply because they couldn't get their hands on the contis...
