Retrofitting angel eyes the proper way...Work in progress...

Well most of you have probably seen the 5 series rings installed into an X5 headlight. I'm sorry but it just doesn't look right. The inside ring is much smaller than the size of the light itself. (Look at the first pic and you know what I mean.)

I am on a mission to install the rings from an 04/05 X5 into the older light assembly. This is the correct size and the original OEM light rings. Here is a work in progress...

I have taken the rings and assemblies apart. Tomorrow they are going to Umnitza who will complete the work and heat seal the assemblies. So my truck is out of commission for this week! I'll be sure to post pics once completed.

I could not agree more...should look awesome! How hard was it to take apart the headlight? I've been wanting to do this, but I'm too afraid to take the plunge!

Dude, when you use big words like that, I have to pull out the dictionary! Hey I was in your neck of the woods (Detroit, Michigan) last week. Went to school there and I sure miss it! Saw everything from a RR Phantom to Lamborghini's there! Friend of mine just bought the Murcielago and I got a chance to go for a ride. 0-60 in 3.8sec...it was a dream come true!

King, you got one heck of motivation for mods. Your X5 seems to have stopped aging. And you gonna have the angel eyes now....

I have taken the assamblies apart 2 times now and I can do it one more time
On the new 5-series the inner ring is smaller.

I actually bought a used set of 2004 headlights on ebay to take out the angel eye rings! I am very tempted to do a complete facelift to the 04 look, if the budget permits, but then I wonder if I should just trade it in...
