This scanner will work with any E53 or only for facelift models?

+1 I drive with my fog-lights on regularly. I hate having the DRL on. what irritated me was that they use a 9006 bulb and switched from 6 volt for DRL to 12 volt for high beams. Most cars use dual filaments to accomplish this, therefore your able to cut one wire (Low Beam) to turn off DRL...

Leave it to ... Just to be different.. Well... From what I hear, Honda does the same... 2006 S2000 does the same 6-12 volt switching. Im sure other imports use the same system

@nighwhyrito: Thanks for that tip!!! Do you mean one such as the following?

hxxp://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-SCANNER-1-4-0-ECU-EEPROM-CODER-READER-DIAGNOSTIC-TOOL-/110774659457?pt=UK_Diagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash =item19caaf2981

Do you remember the seller from whom you purchased it? It seems most sellers on that site are overseas (Asia)...

@Tymatk: I can post pics when I actually get them to turn-on... :-)

Thanks!

I wish there was a way to have the FOG LIGHTS always go on instead of always having to hit the foglight switch...then use that along with halos...thats a nice look!!

I just turned OFF my DRL's cause they look like poo in my opinion. just upgrade yourangel eyes to a 5W LED bulb replacement (e-bay for $25 Au) and set them as your DRL's using software. looks SOOOO NICE.

I work at a shop and BMW was the first i saw that used these circuits for almost all lighting on the car. Yes Honda, Toyota, and Mercedes have a similar system. Most drl I have seen have been dual if they use the same bulb for one if the headlights (low beam or highbeam)

I definitely want to run my AEs as my DRLs. I just got the bulbs to change them today. Looks like I'll be getting that scanner tool myself. Hey, what type of bulbs are in the fog lights? The previous owner put some really really BLUE light in there. Looks AWFUL!!! I vowed never to turn them on again until I can get them replaced....lol.
