I installed my Aux port in the non-smoker tray. Allows me to tuck the cable and mp3 player in the tray and close the lid while it's playing.

lol had I known there was a non smoker tray.... Nah, I wanted the charger and aux port to be right next to each other, so that it looks neater once both are plugged in. Plus it's for my phones, so I don't really want to hide it.

I did think of installing it in the ash tray, but I didn't like the fact of some crazy car wash guy pulling it out to clean it. Tray is a different story though.

That's what I meant, the non-smoker ash tray replacement, part 11 in the diagram above. Not the center console tray. Confusing, I know.
I left enough wire behind the socket so that the tray can be pulled out quite a ways without breaking it.

It was easy. Pull out the ash tray, dremmel a hole for the wire. and feed the aux wire to the plate. You don't need to take out anything else.

I did pull out the nav to feed the wire down and connect to the back of the nav screen.

I don't hear much about the DICE media bridge, is there a reason why? You get much more than AUX and it all works through existing radio or steering wheel controls. I have the mediabridge. I think it is great! I ran the AUX and USB to the ashtray as I don't allow smoking in my X.
