Oil separator, 2004 cold climate version
Hello everyone,
I have a 2001 X5 3.0i and I need to replace the oil separator and all related hoses. I have a quick question and I would appreciate if someone can shed light on it. The question is that can I use the 2004 updated (cold climate) version parts (parts#: 11617533400), instead of using the original one for 2001 (parts#: 11617501566)? I assume that I would have to use the cold climate version's hoses if the cold climate version's oil separator is used. I searched around the forum; people saying the cold climate version fix some problem. But I am NOT sure if it fits the 2001 model. I don't seem to see anybody confirmed this been done, or doable. I also called dealer parts people who couldn't confirm either. He said I had to drive in and talk to a technician. I would appreciate any comments or advice. Thanks in advance. |
