Pros: 6-speed, sport package, non-air suspension (coils on all 4 corners), mostly everything works, guy drove it 1.5 hours to deliver it to me. Cons: 6 owners on carfax, last questionable owner had it for ~2 months, one key with dead battery, no service records, power steering stiff/squealing, steering position sensor code. I'm also not sure which packages it has. VIN decoder shows sport package (and correct 131 style wheels with the sport package), but doesn't list other packages, like comfort/premium/cold weather package. It has rear sunshades and electric reclining rear seats, plus seat warmers and memory seats. Any insights on how to verify which options came with which packages? |

Hah, yeah, I'd sell my 150k 01 5spd in a heartbeat for a fraction of that amount. Seriously, after seeing that BaT result, I'm going to take some beauty shots this weekend and go fishing.

I will note that I think that there is a big premium for the 6MT. Both because it's a lot nicer on the highway, and also because so few of them were built, even relative to the 5MT.

Can confirm. I was considering a 2003 5sp non-sport and a 2004 6sp sport package and spent +$3000 for the LCI 6-speed.

So, what did it go for?
I have owned my 2004 6 speed for 6 or so years now. While there have been a couple things to address, they haven't been much; DISA valve, front wheel bearing, coils, alternator, door handle and window regulator. AT 200k, it is still on the original clutch, engine only uses 1 qt oil every 5k miles! It still looks great with zero rust anywhere, and the interior is probably 98%. I thought about selling last year, but glad I decided to keep her- there really is nothing else out there I would want, so I have decided to refresh the drive train. Time to preemptively do a new clutch, and address a few leaks while everything is apart.

C&B has more realistic numbers in the $7k-$9k range. That $15k BAT seems like an outlier. Even as a long time enthusiast, I'm not sure what package/options makes the BAT that much more special. I know sport package has a huge impact on E61s and ZHP E46 command a premium, but the two C&B E53 LCI 6-speeds with sport packages went for under $10k. |

![]() I don't know that the sport package commands a premium on the E53, though.

$15k seems quite high to me, but in the current market, what can you get that is comparable? Not much.
Anyway, dollar value be damned I have been very pleased with mine, and still consider it worth the investment of a mild refresh. More modern vehicles are saddled with hyper-complications and tech I don't want.
