okay, so the shopped looked at it today and said my brake line were leaking. I think it was heavily wore down so they replaced it and my brakes work again now. As for suspensions, they said they oiled all the joints and it shouldn't make those sounds anymore, and if it does come back and become unbearable, I'd probably have to change my ball joints or upper something.. I forget. They say nothing is wrong with my springs, but when I look at the x5, I still think that the left rear is sitting lower than the rest of the car. I think I will bring it back and tell them to look at it again.
Another squeak is coming from my driver's seat. I had all audio off today trying to hear if there was any squeaking coming from the back, but I can hear my seat squeak as I go over bumps and it'll continue to squeak as I bounce up and down after going over bumps. Maybe oiling something in the seats will make it not squeak too?

If they think the spring is fine then I'd be inclined to think that the spring is fine......

Have you made sure all your tires are pumped to the correct PSI? I'd also be checking the linkages around the left wheel, you may have a dodgey bushing in there.

One last thing Id do is go to the doctor and make sure your right leg isn't shorter than your left

We've seen a number of instances of owners failing their annual safety check in the UK due to brake line corrosion at the rear. Seems there might be a catch point for road salt in the area and this eats through the pipes over time.

A good reason to thoroughly clean off the underside after the winter season so as to try and get rid of any crud lurking in corners.

I've got one of these.....

Karcher UK | Chassis Cleaner

Glad you're safe. It's a pretty frightening thing when it happens!!

Patrickkc,

Do you know how many lines they changed? Mine is leaking on the left side (right under the driver side door). How much did it cost? Thanks

Your's is leaking???????

Mate no offence but this isn't an oil leak style "I'll do it next week" sort of thing. Money is of little importance if your brake system is leaking. Get it repaired yesterday..........

Thanks for the input Bulk, I understand it's not an oil leak. The X is not my daily so its park til i get the change to figure out where else it's leaking. I don't want to just change that line under the driver's door and find out it's leaking somewhere else as well. I do agree cost is of little importance in case..

haha, sorry for the late reply mates, went to the auto show today .

@Bulk, I think it would be my left leg shorter than my right leg! haha jk, everything seems to be fine (tire pressure). I will ask the shop to check the linkages and bushings.

@X5Sport, that looks like a great way to wash the bottom of my car, but I can't use my pressure washer here in Toronto in the winter anyways so I wouldn't be able to wash the bottom of my car with it when there is actually salt on the ground. It hasn't been very cold nor much snow this winter, or else I usually buy a 3 month pass to those gas station washes where I can wash once a day for 3 months. I think the car washes my car goes through at the gas stations is able to wash my underside.

@nebilex, I had 2 lines changed and it cost me $350. I would really get it towed to the shop if you have CAA and have it fixed asap. It really is scary when you put your foot down and it goes straight to the bottom. The remaining braking power at the end of the brake pedal is very sudden too. It's like you suddenly go full onto the brakes and you jolt forward.

The squeaking is back! (expected). I was looking for a parking spot in a multistory parking lot for the auto show and the squeaking was just embarrassing. Everybody walking in that parking lot looked at me as I drove by. Sounded like an old spring mattress. I also had a few friends look at my car and they too think my car is dipped back at the driver's rear wheel. The shop told me that when they raised my car and put it back down, they couldn't replicate the sound anymore, so I really have no idea whats wrong with it. I will bring it back sometime this week and maybe do a more thorough inspection.
