Do you like your lowered x? How did you do it?

I was thinking about getting a pro-kit for my X5. I was wondering what methods you guys have used to lower your e53's, if you like it, etc?

Any advice?

Thanks!
Ben

Mine is slightly lowered.not much of a difference at all.the result?my back tires now bend outwards.my front drive axels keep going to shyt.i didn't lower my car,the previous owner did.my suggestion is if ur gonna get it down make sure ts done by someone who knows what they're doing or they can really mess up your suspension

I'll probably just throw some 20s on it and keep it where it is.

If you were to lower I would only recommend KW suspension setup. Nice ride and best ride quality concerning rebound. If you want a 20" wheel then look no further then a set of genuine bmw 20's. great quality and they resist bending more so than aftermarket.

How low do you want to go ? I did lower mine with B&G S2 springs it gave me 2" all around ... I love it ... It costs me $250 for the springs...

Ive done mine with the H&R kit.. No complaints, other then I added the Bilstien HD's and its a bit too stiff for city... I am switching back to the stock sport struts.

I love the ride, looks amazing with 20's, stands out from the rest.

It all boils down to what you want. Goodluck!

curious if the bilsten shocks that turner sells for $83 each plus the springs that MRBMWX5 installed (B&G) will suffice for lowering the car for the time being?

Then later have the dealer remove the inactive code?

i,m not convinced that lowering an air bag equipped car is a smart idea, that said if you are converting to springs all round it should work.

i dont see how lowering a vehicle would cause drive shaft issues, and all said is a straight forward job.

my concern is that in my case with four wheel coil spring and sport suspension i wouldnt want the ride quality any firmer than it presently is.

when i spoke to a spring shop they reckoned it would be firmer, however im not sure if that is across the board or only in comparison to a non sport ride.

Huntertec when you lowered yours did you notice any major ride quality difference??
was your a sport or non sport equipped car, also now lowered do you have any problems with the 20 inch wheels, especially clearance issues on the back when you have a load in your car or you hit bumps.

my rear tyres are flush with the out side edge of the body work and am concerned that if i lower it i will get rubbing
