Well as it turns out it was actually harder to find a mechanic close by the car to do a PPI than it was finding the car itself. I found a mobile outfit and he went and checked it out. While not as thorough as a dealer or BMW specialist would have been, he served a purpose and checked the car out. It came back with no issues that he could see and the diagnostic picked up no codes. There was a readiness issue with the evap and 2 o2 sensors due to the owner changing the battery and not going through a whole drive cycle but according to the mechanic the car drove and looked excellent. Well, besides some dog hair in the way back but I digress. Im going to pick her up as soon as I can get a 1 way ticket. Hope these gals are good road trip vehicles because Im about to get acclimated on an 8 hour road trip. Ughhhh..

bagpype,
Congrats on finding your car...we do 11 hr runs from western NC to NJ a couple times per year. ~660 miles one way. Course I have the CEO who likes to drive even more than I do, for relief. Even our '01 is a highway gobbler...

Where the hell are you flying 'into'? Not much, city-wise down east in NC...

Congrats Bagpype. You'll finish the 8 hour trip home and get right back in the car to go show your buddies.
I flew 2300 miles to pick mine up and drove damn near 3 days straight through winter-weather misery to get back home. Dropped off the wife, went through the car wash, and spent the next couple of hours making family and friends very jealous.

8 hours will barely get you acquainted with the cockpit. I made it all the way home and hadn't figured out how to run the rear wiper yet!

Lol, I drove mine first time from the port. Took me 20 mins to turn off the wiper. Then it started raining. Took me another 2 hours to figure out I have a rear wiper now. lol.
