Low motor oil and no Notification!
after a drive when i parked and turned my car off a message flashed Check engine oil, wierd that i never had this b4 cause b4 it would usually say Engine oil low. Checked the Dip Stick and its bone dry... the tip was the only thing that was semi oiled. I dunno how long iv been that low but has anyone never got a message or a warning b4 this happening? hope i didn't ruin my engine. No noise or vibration but the oil cap had dark dried oil on it and i just put 5 quarts in and the dip stick is showing its full... Ill check tmrw to see if theres a leak of some sort

What makes you think it needed "5 quarts"?

i bought 7 quarts from the store thinking the motor is completely dry but after putting 5 in and checking the dip stick it showed that it was above the max line so i stopped putting motor oil in. B4 putting any oil in i checked the dip stick and it showed it was at the tip of the dip stick which was way too low

No kidding on the full part...I would have started with 1-2 qts, run engine for a few, let drain for several minutes, and then check. If still below the 'qt line', add another.
Tossing in 5 qts may have overfilled it considerably. GL, mD

If your unsure of what is in there, the only 100% way to know is drain and refill like a oil change. That way your sure.

Drain 3 quarts out. Run it for 30 seconds. Check the dipstick. Any foaming, drain it all out. If no foaming, check the level and top off 1 quart at a time. Car holds approx 8 quarts. Dipstick shows the top 2 or 3 only. Nothing on the dipstick doesn't mean bone dry.

^I second this. Over filling isn't very good for the motor, I'd get the X's oil level back to the proper specs asap.
