I have all the lines saved for this. At work though. But if you just search for a thread called coding, what not to forget, it's all there.

If you would like this feature Terminator I have an option for you

Check out my writeup on the carsolutions module. It's just a small module that intercepts the ibus signal and when it detects the lock unlock command from the keyfob it triggers the auto fold circuit.

oh, yeah... the iBus microcontroller... i was thinking about doing something like that, but if i go the microcontroller route, i want several lines programmed into it:

mirrors fold/unfold on lock/unlock
sunroof/windows close/AC turn on incoming phone call via BT
windows close on sunroof close after triggered by the rainsensor
doors unlock with key out of ignition

I can't think of anything else at the moment.

Lex, was it required to have the emirror module installed behind the cluster? if it calls for the power and iBus, could it not be installed just about anywhere in the car?

Term,
I just went with the install instruction location. You are definitely correct it can be installed on any loom where a ibus line 12V and ground are present.

I'm proficient at hardware but lacking in the programing dept. if you have the ability and resources to mock up a proto board with a controller and program some code into it for the commands listed above that would be awesome! I would love to have access to something like that!

well, with two elementary school-aged kids there is not much time to do anything, other than kick their butts out a bed, shove them into the school, go to work, come home, help them with homework, feed them, take them to karate practice, shower them, make sure they brush their teeth, shove them back into the bed, and finally have couple hours to yourself... just to find yourself dosed off in front of a TV in a middle of night... kroll to bed, pretend to sleep, wake up in the morning and the circus starts all over again!!!! hahahaha...

I am not complaining - i just looked at some of my notes... my last programming was in the summer... and now i got to the program some of the things into the car that i meant to do for a few months now - why now? because the kids are at the grandparents!!!

So.. the life goes on....

Radio recoding - US or ECE operation

As for the radio, switching US - radio to operate on odd frequencies (US) vs both (ECE), this isn't a car program. You do this on the head unit itself, a 30 second job.

There is a Youtube video of a guy doing this on an E46, you have (from memory) about 5 choices on our radio (US, Canada, ECE, Japan & something else).

If you need more - let me know. Happy to help,.

for some reason my radio in 2006 X5 will not recode into ECE mode - i tried directly from the hidden radio menu and from the RAD module using NCS Expert - that mode is simply NOT available inside the radio... Canada, Japan, Oceania are there.. but EC - is not... my older radio in 2002 X5 was put into EC mode... maybe firmware upgrade?
