The plastic cover behind the rearview mirror needs to be removed, the cover snaps apart. There's a small wire connector that needs to be unplugged from the sensor module. 2 min job.

Drop some big $s (king kong dollar?), and toss a good windshield in the trash to keep an option that is intolerable to many owners? See above response!

I honestly don't give a thing about rain sensor itself,I just want to be able to adjust the wipers to desired speed,I hate a dry windshield wiping.Gets the rubber spent fast and wipers don't perform as good too soon.
But I also question myself,WHY every single thing is done so freaking complicated?

I just want the rain sensor to work so I can have my auto lights back. Right now, if I put it on Auto, the headlights turn off after 15 seconds.. even if it is in the dark..

I just had my windshield replaced and the rain sensor doesn't work. The intermittent function just turns the wipers on at normal speed.

The guy who replaced my windshield broke the plastic surround but used some adhesive to put it back together, and I thought no big deal if it works.

I watch him put the rain sensor on the windshield and he didn't use any silicone or adhesive. Is this normally part of the process?

I looked at the windshield and I don't see any bubbles underneath the sensor. How do I troubleshoot or do I just need to bring it in to the dealer?
