Rain sensor

Hi guys,
I use INPA and can't delete a fault code in Rain Sensor module.
I lost rain sensing do to the bubbles in the silicon which were left by a guy that replaced my windshield like 3 1/2 years ago.
I lost rain sensing about a year and a half ago.
I see the same thing as the OP from the thread here: Rain Sensor (AIC) initialisation problem - The Unofficial BMW M5 Messageboard (m5board.com)

I am wondering if anybody had a same problem and what the cure was,if there was any.

Thanks a lot

lemme know if you can recode using INPA. I had the exact same problem and replaced the purple sensor, but guess I didn't install properly and still have a few bubbles but a lot less than before. Sensors still don't work, so I think it could be my Rain sensor module that is either broken or need recoding.

I reinstalled the sensor myself.
There are no bubbles now.

I've unplugged that sensor on every BMW I have owned that has had auto-wiper function. This allows the stalk intermittent settings to function as in a non-auto wiper BMW. The auto wiper function is set WAY too sensitive IMHO.

Might be a bad sensor.

I thought disconnecting the sensor (center of windshield) will get you spee-sensing wiper but no intermitent.
My OE glass develops buble and at thi spoint I am not sure if intermittent of speed-sending is better than the other.

Disconnected gives you intermittent and speed-sensing. Stationary, positions 1 thru 4 of the stalk thumbwheel will result in wipe delays of 25, 15, 10 and 5 seconds, at 85 mph the delay time is 15, 10, 5 and 2 secs.

Cool. So how do you disconnect it (i.e. where is the connector and how do you get to it)?

The best solution is to replace the whole windshield, this is what BMW service center's solution. However, you can buy the BMW specific glue to re-attach the sensor onto the windshield, but it will be really difficult to do it without letting air goes into the area as long as the windshield is not off.
