Do you mean thrust arm? The arm that goes from the hub to the front of the car. If yes, then yes. If you can move it that much by hand, imagine what a 5000lb car will do under braking.

This arm here. I think it is called a tension strut.

I really have to swing off it to move it by quater to half inch? why would a worn bush cause the front wheels to judder under breaking? and why does it stop juddering when I brake hard?
