4.4 - V8 Rumble????

Hi all,

Should the 2002 4.4 have a bit of a v8 rumble to it at low revs. I'm not complaining, it sounds great but I don't remeber my 540i with this engine having that sound?

I can only describe it as a bit of a muscle car sound at low revs, it seems to be drowned out by the whoosh at higher revs?

I haven't heard another 4.4 yet so i don't know if this is just the normal sound of the car or my exhaust is breaking down? Any ideas?

No, not illegal to remove the resonator. No damage to anything, cut the resonator out and you can either replace it with straight pipe or install an X-pipe.

yes the x5 is louder and in my opinion sounds better than the 540 because of diiferent factory exhaust tunning
