Bye Bye 2003 E53...

I'll miss you!
It was a great car but at 160,000 the time finally came. Between gas prices (it was my DD) and maintenance repairs, I had to start thinking long and hard about getting another car...so today I picked up another BMW.

Although with the price increase of even entry level models I'm not sure I can even afford BMW's anymore. This may be my last one. Not good.

Anyway, I owned my X5 the longest out of all my cars and I already miss that fickle car!

I don't know many of the "newer" members here but enjoy your X while you still have it. It was a fun car for me to have and drive.

out of curiosity, what does is cost monthly to drive an X5 in the USA?

In the netherlands you pay for a diesel car, 100 euro insurance & 200 euro taxes each month (total of 390 dollar). diesel price is 1,50 euro per liter (about 4 liter is 1 gallon?) 6 euro per gallon = 7,8 dollar per gallon...

NOT as much as the Netherlands that's for sure!

Sorry I couldn't contribute more to your question.

Still miss my X! it was paid for but I like the new car a lot. It's a 2013 328ix. It's beautiful and gets a lot of attention! It's plenty fast enough for me and fun to drive. I have to get used to sitting so low again, especially after owning my X for so many years.

I traded the X and I shouldn't have done that. Live and learn I guess.

I'm feeling ya.

I've got a little over 90K on the 2005 X and will be getting a daily driver for the express purpose of keeping the X. Like you I cannot afford a new one at current
prices so i struggled with deciding weather I should sell or not. But I believe i'm leaning heavily towards keep it because I know if I get rid of it i'll be sorry.
In the meantime I hope you will find some Joy with your new ride.
