X5 4.6 Build
Well, I know this is REALLY uncharted territory for most, but when my 4.6's rod bearings decided to let go at 107k miles, I couldn't get rid of it. First I was going to do just a new crank and bearings, then it kinda spun out of control.
Specs: Stock bore and stroke 10.5:1 compression Wiseco coated forged pistons Pauter forged I-beam rods Stock crank rebalanced (due to lighter engine components) The motor was built by CSS Motorsports in Newtown, PA. Chuck is extremely knowledgeable and was able to re-do the alusil coating on the block after honing it. Here's some pics of the block all wrapped up in the back of my beater:   Motor is going in Wednesday and once it's broken in, the next step begins (it's a secret).
