You are right, there are no words to describe this

Good stuff Naz. Did you pump it out yet, or is it useless, and still flowing in as you pump? I keep hitting these types of problems. I pump shit out, and the damn level doesn't change. I'm even laying PVC pipe long enough to pump water to lower grade.
At docs now. Bronchitis. IV antibiotics for the next week. Great. Well I have one more day of this, and pops in law is back. I will be able to chill a bit. I got a worker of mine sitting in my truck, in line to get fuel. 10 gal limit, so I have him fill up, come around and do it again. I have 20 Gal in my F already. So that is exciting. Yea guys, I can't believe this happened here. 2 storm hits in 14 months. Irene was absolute bullshit compared to this. It is going to be painful to start charging people money for labor once we move into re-construction. People are literally coming up to us and saying they are homeless and need help. So sad. For now we are just helping family, friends, neighbors, and well neighbors of neighbors, to get back into houses that are actually safe enough to live in. Ok I'll update later. 2 min left of IV, so I'm off.

I spent the entire storm out in the weather with my local Volunteer Fire Department, most of the time at the wheel on an engine. It got pretty scary at times. When you feel a 50k lb truck start to tip over, it's a bit disconcerting. Our main issue here was wind damage. Trees down everywhere. We had about 60 emergency calls in 24 hours, and they have been still coming in at a good clip. I saw about 20+ houses with trees on their roofs. Some were pretty well damaged. 2/3rds of the roads in town were blocked with fallen trees, many with wires involved. I lost six big trees on my property, but a glancing blow to my Infiniti was the only damage, (needs the bumper painted, which was just done two weeks ago!) I need to get up on the roof to replace quite a few shingles. My wife's store has no power and can not open. My business is dependent on the Internet and phones, so I'm out of luck too.
Most of streets are clear at this point, but the electric crews are not fixing anything at this point; just cutting away the downed wires to open the streets , and turning off power so tree crews can work. We have had power all along, but no cable, Internet or phone service. All in all, there are many, many much worse off; we are thankful. In the aftermath of the storm, a lot of folks are causing problems with their generators, we have had many folks setting off their CO alarms by placing generators too close to their house, or even inside their attached garage, (very stupid!) I'm sure we'll hear about people either electocuting themselves trying to backfeed their service panel, or burn their house down. Some of the jerry rigged set ups I've seen in the last few days are completely assinine. Like powering a furnace directly with the wires to the panel still hooked up. So you've got a 30a outlet on the generator with a 12/3 extension chord plugged in. then 12 ga household wiring then powering 1/2 the house panel. Can you say electrical fire???? When power goes out, and battery back ups get too low, fire alarms get activated automatically. When power is restored, alarms go off then too.

national guard sitting in our town, not letting anyone in! So we cant even get there right now.... we are extremely worried about mold... Apparently if you do not dry it within first 48-72 hours you could have a serious problem. This would basically cause our house to be.. well... destroyed entirely.. Going to try and pump it out today or tomorrow, my dad just got an industrial sized pump (yes hes in super builder mode lately). Our sump well has a gravity feed to the storm drains (which might have been part of the reason for flooding) we put that in there because in power outages, we never get flooded because it all just drains.. Regardless, if they can get those storm drains going, we are gonna drain out also. The water level outside the house just made it to the edge of our house (foundation is raised a bit)... our house is on one of the ABC aerial cam views... so depressing

Holy shit dude. Good luck. I know it's rough Naz. It's terrible. Absolutelly nuts. I have a depressing mood. Good luck. Yes. Rip that Sheetrock out ASAP after the drain. As a matter of fact. While draining, grab a sledge and punch holes in the bottom and top of the sheetrock. Let the beams breathe ASAP.

Thanks for the tips Slick, we've already called a mold removal company, so i think we're gonna bring them in pre-emptively. The house is only 5 years old!!
I think we're looking at 30-40k damage all in (without mold). Lets see what insurance does for us. The electrical panel is down there, along with the amps for our bose home sound system... so annoying... Even a decent wine collection

SlickGT1 & Skyline:
Props, kudos and a freakin hug for doing all you can for fellow people. Be freakin carefull, men... Naz, tough deal on your home; but quit worrying about your vino collection: it ain't gonna go bad in 2 days or even 2 weeks, in these temps. A couple bros in law in north NJ and NY, and they are freakin hurting... Our kidz, in south jersey, lucked out: lost power, trees down all over the place, other houses & cars squashed by trees, but they sneaked by. The TV vids, which I realize are highly edited, are amazing, and chilling. Some great sets of pics on the web; I lived there for almost 30 yrs, so I recall the area(s), but one would think some more heroic efforts, logistically, could be done to get things back in shape, and most of all take care of the people that are really hurting. Looks almost 3rd/4th world. The giant generators, hospitality tents, truck loads of food and bevs for the fookin Marathon 'sponsors' may be the epitome of the Let'emEatCake 'tude, 2012 version... Be careful out there, people. Good Luck, mD & V

Marathon got scrapped. Pressure mounted all over about this bullshit. People are freezing, hungry, angry, and they thought the damn race was going to make us move on. FU you snob nose MoFos. These marathon pricks are clearly are not in the mix of what people are going through. Its like a huge slap in the face. Even the runners are saying, why wasn't this shit canceled right away, and why only at the last min. I'm happy it got scrapped. Even though I thought I didn't care either way.
Skyline stay safe. The reason people are doing stupid shit with generators is because they are getting desperate. I keep runing into people where they didn't see any authority still. With no power, people are getting tid bits of new. Most don't realize that them not having electricity is really not the worst people are dealing with. I'm trying to recover so taking it easy. Going to do clothes collection tomorrow from people still on their feet. Wife really cleaned our closets out. I guess she wants to upgrade our clothes, lol. We finished one roof repair today. By we, I mean I supervised. Quick and dirty with 4 guys. Looks like some heavy rain storm might be slamming us on Wednesday. The fuel situation is getting bad. Managed to get my truck nearly half full, and had to call it quits. There are 1000 cars waiting for one station to get fuel delivery. No fuel, people were just told this place will get some soon. Wow. Another conclusion. Frame houses suck. I see brick houses take a full front hit from the wave, get hit by a tree, catch fire, get put out, and people are back living in it. Yea the house took a beating, but its still standing and passed safety inspection. Frame houses calapse from almost anything. I hope people rebuild smarter.
