ICV? hmmm... i had ICV problem on my E39 with M52 engine.. i had to keep the foot on the gas or that thing would stall...

does your engine stall?

the temporary remedy (for a month or two) was to rev up the engine all the way into the red line, and then it was normal for a while...

which program would you use to view codes?
I used carsoft 6.5 when I had my E34 Touring, but with my current E53 X5 I use an app call Torque. It works with most android devices including phones. I use a Bluetooth adapter called ELM. I keep the bluetooth adapter in the car and if I need to check the engine I can call up the app on my android phone. The Torque App is way better then Carsoft. You don't need to buy a special cable and you don't need a computer. I have the app on a Toshiba Thrive Tablet running Ice Cream Sandwhich.

You still haven't pull the code yet? At least it will tell you to check for instead of you checking random parts. I have a MaxiCan $18 to pull code quick, as well as INPA for more complex stuffs.
