Anyone with Painted Interior Trim?

I'm seriously considering buying a 4.8is but I can't stand the wood trim. The one I'm looking at has the center console with some cracking. My buddy's 4.4i also has cracking on the center console, I guess its a common problem on the E53s.

So I would want to paint all of it including the steering wheel trim. I was thinking just Titanium Silver so it has clean contrast against the black leather. But I can also go with Jet Black like the exterior of the car is. Then again that might also be a bit normal and boring. Anyone have any other bolder choices in their car? I know there are a few E53s with the Blue Trim that looks amazing. If you guys are familiar with iND they sell painted trim kits in lots of bright exterior colors and I was thinking of maybe going in that direction.

Any contributions welcome!

Edit: Didn't end up buying a 4.8iS but I got my lil brother a 4.4i and we've been doing a lot of things to it. A pic of what we went with is on Post #14

I have the wood grain in mine and not a big fan either. I was thinking of taking mine off and getting them vinyl wrapped. This way if you decide to go back or change the color not a big deal.

If you lean more toward conservative (you mention silver) colors versus the more "lively" colors like red or blue interior trim... silver trim or carbon fiber trim would go well with your black interior:

Thanks for the pics guys. On my E39 M5 I had the wood wrapped in Silver Carbon Fiber 3M Di-Noc and it looked great. It was really sharp on the black leather and looked very clean. After about a year I noticed the film was warping in corners. Probably because of the season changes. I may have just had a poor install but I after a few more months I couldn't look at it anymore so I ripped it all off. The plan was to paint all the wood trim Silver so it would look very OEM. When I saw that iND did a white trim on a E92 M3 I went ahead and had it done in white instead. Since its clean and glossy it looks sporty and expensive. At first I was reluctant to try it because I thought it might look cheap. So because of that experience I am very open to trying a bold color choice.

Here a few pics below of some of the iND stuff so you guys know what I'm talking about. Please continue to add more pics of E53s if you have them. Thanks!

I would like to get them piano black too but how do you do that? Is that a special paint or you send them somewhere to get them painted.

Piano Black is a high gloss black or SCHWARZ HOCHGLANZ. The easy way to reproduce it is by having them painted Jet Black with extra coats of clear.

BTW: Jet Black is Schwarz II Code 668

I'll shortly have E53 titanium trim (doors and possibly more) for someone who wants to change to this - I'm happy with the existing wood trim on my car. If the person has wood to trade, I'd consider - I'd need it essentially for the sport steering wheel.
