extra transmission fluid found when checking its level

I have replaced the heat exchanger involving the lost of about half a cup of tea which was contained in it. When checking the transmission fluid level for topping at 41 degree celcius (starting the car and moving lever between P, N & D) another half a cup of tea popped out from the tranny fill opening.

What are the consequences when a tranny contains an excess amount of oil?

I have read almost all, but didn't find anything regarding over topping. Wanna look out if this might influence the shifting speed between gears and the flexibility of the tranny in general as well as if it may cause over pressure of any of the fluid circuit components. Have a nice day
