I have had a look around and got a few quotes - they are all less than my Honda Civic Type R, so that's a great start anyway. I am with Privilege at the moment, and I know they want the X5 to have a tracker. Must look into these other places people have mentioned as well. The car will have a tracker fitted regardless though - not because it is / isn't an insurance requirement, but more because it gives us peace of mind. We live in a good area, and the car will be in the garage (if it fits beside the CSL!), so insurance costs should be fine

Congrats on the order.

I think the 3.0D is a very impressive powerplant. Once it gets a few miles on it so it loosens up a bit you'll find more than a few motorists who are very surprised when you tell it's actually a diesle and not a petrol 4x4.

We picked up our new X5 in December and I got the supplying dealer to fit the Titanium Grill - total cost £122!

Congratulations and welcome to the board. Please post some pics when you get your ride.

Congrats, that's quite an impressive ride you have on order. I'm so jealous, I wish we had the diesel powerplant here in the US.

Direct Line is what I got and they wouldnt insure it without the tracker.Still,a 300 GBPounds difference in premium pays for the tracker system!

Thanks for the info guys!I stand corrected.
I obviously been contacting the wrong Insurance companies!
Still, your insurance premium does drop quite a bit if you have a tracker installed. So for now,I am sticking with Direct Line.

Last year, in Paris-Dakar Rallye, a special powerplant used in BMW X5 was an biturbo 3.0d, 278hp..Now 535d using this powerplant, you could not imagine the feel of the torque which is a little bit more than M5 ..Infact, I'm very new in X5 , but my favourite is that powerplant..

Sweet! I wish we could get the diesel here in the USA. Best of luck with it.
