how often you come into the Jerz Slick?

I'd throw you a few bucks to code my car and set my ride height a tad lower at normal position than it is right now

looks like its more pain than its worth to find myself a laptop for this beast, finding a cheap laptop is one thing, but then finding one with 32 bit windows 7 or xp is another lol

You can use a Windows 7 64 bit OS, you would just have to install a VM on that machine to run the software on.

You can also run the software in compatibility mode, but I'm not a fan of this.

well it turns out my wife didnt tell me she had an old Acer laptop in her closet at her parents house (before she got her MacBook, this was from college days)

so i'm going to try and get it running this weekend, my father in law's landlord for his business is a computer repair shop so if I run into any snags i'm going to have the guy wipe and restore the thing, and make sure I am running 32 bit windows on it.

Will update after the weekend and if the computer is running I will be sending 35 bucks to Romania!

Everything will work on windows 7 32 bit or 64 bit but when you install the BMW tools INPA, Etc., run in the install compatibility mode for windows XP SP2 (by right clicking on the installation file and choosing "troubleshoot compatibility mode" you can either let it choose the proper mode or manually do it. Windows 7 has different directory structure and a couple of other features that aren't compatible with some older XP programs.

There is a step to verify the ODB setup in the registry. Don't skip this part. I had some inconsistencies in the registry that kept my setup from working correctly.

Also, don't forget to install the USB driver for the diag head.

The video instructions are very good. Use the pause during the video so you can get each step installed without having to memorize it.

if you have tried everything and still can't get it working, try wiping and reloading windows. There may be something previously installed on the system that interferes with all the GT1 stuff. I had this happen on one laptop I was setting up. The other one I setup had no issues at all.

If anybody needs help with the installation, post here and I'll try to help you through it

Sounds good socket, I'll pm you if I am clearing up the computer and run into any snags, once I get a "fresh windows" loaded and running I'll order this.

Personally, I didn't format my laptop at all. I ran into a couple of snags, but it was due to how I was actually using NCS. I guess I got lucky.

well just bc i will only be using this laptop for BMW stuff i can wipe it clean and have a fresh slate. We have a Macbook in the house and an iMac desktop as well so this is just a fun BMW computer.

If I get this up and running I will be offering services to people who need diagnostics cleared and coding!
