Gearbox upgraded software!
Is there a way to find out whether if you've got the latest software on your gearbox or not? Thanks

I've been wondering the same thing myself. On really cold days I get a slow shift into first. it doesn't continue to do it all day just the first or second shift into first after a cold start.
Hmmmmmm... I'm guessing realtime diagnostic scanning with a GT1 or similar Will show the Software Rev. currently installed. If you don't have coding/scanning software it will most likely require a trip to the dealer. On that note I wonder if you could have have the dealer pull all dealer service records by VIN and have them confirm this service has been preformed without them even scanning the vehicle. I had a friend on another forum that's a BMW tech at the dealer pull records for one of my other BMW's before.

Order an inpa adapter off of ebay and install the software. Available all over. You can then pull up the info on it. If you physically pull the EGS you will see the original part # which is the software number it was shipped with.
In INPA it lists the part #, then something like coding index which is the current version. If no update has been done both numbers should match. |
