100k mi, Engine now makes shake/wobble

Greetings, I have a 2005 3.0i that just went over 100k miles. When I start it up after a day or 2 of being off, the engine has a wobble / shake to it. It definitely does not sound as smooth as it did. What could this be, and can I do anything myself to fix this?

I'm also looking for a new Amp for the sound system, my whole radio/speakers does not work, the repair place I took it to said the amp shorted out and I needed a new one. They wanted like $600 to fix it, no way I'm paying that. What is the best bet for finding a new one? I'm assuming it cant be too difficult to find one? I also eventually want to get an OEM trailer hitch, so would like to find one of those as well. I live in Austin, TX.

Thanks for any help, I appreciate it!
Cheers.

did you do any work under the hood? maybe washed the engine bay? shake can be from many reasons, like engine mounts, or MAF sensor unplugged, or misfiring cylinders... the list goes on...

factory hitch is the only way to go, instead of getting a used one, go to a dealer - should be in vicinity of $1000 installed... too many parts involved in the installation to go used route...

amp... depending on the place that diagnosed it, the diagnosis might right, might be wrong... what are the symptoms? there are a lot of people here that can guide in the right direction if you want to get a replacement amp...

I havent done any work to it other than regular maintenance, so i'm guessing slightly misfiring cylinders, sounds expensive but typical.

I've seen detailed installations of it, and yes its complicated, but if the part itself is $300 or less it would certainly be in my best interest to install it myself. I was really hoping to get one off an x5 that had the front side of it totaled.

The symptoms are as follows, at first it wouldnt play sound but still start for a couple weeks, then all sound stopped going to the speakers. This happened after one of the windows broke and water got inside the door panel during a heavy rainstorm (yes, my window broke on the single busiet work week of the year and it of course happened to rain like a monsoon exactly then). So, the head unit works just fine, powers up and everything, but nothing to the speakers. I dont need a symphony, I would prefer the cheapest amp solution and I will hopefully install it myself if that is possible. It is just the business CD player and half of the bulbs on the display are burned, but that doesnt matter because usually I just plug in my phone as AUX and use that.

either You have bad gasoline or something with the air intake for starters................next check Your plugs ,sounds like a misfire.
I am not sure on the 6 cylinders , but the 8 cylinders have a diaframe on the back of the intake .

BAD GASOLINE - BOOM. I think you hit the nail on the head. Ever since this ethanol bullshit I have not been able to get pure unleaded. I guess I'll start another thread on this, this seems to be a very big deal.

You have a 3.0, I would check the DISA valve first.

Fuel, yes possible.

Factory Hitch, email this guy, tell him you are from XoutPost. Trust me, the best prices around.

If you have a misfire you should get a SES (Service Engine Soon) light on the dash. Get a code reader and read the code(s). Misfire could be due to spark plug, coil pack, injector, or a vacuum leak. Until you know the reason for the misfire it's just a WAG (wild Ass Guess) that we can provide.

Check out this thread, engine shake on startup ended up being caused by water in the intake, causing misfires.
