The follow up is appreciated...and now twice verified that the e53 is different than the e38/e39.

Perhaps it needs to be coded on...although mine has auto up/down...so maybe a PO coded it off at one point.

Or...does your anti-trap feature work? Take a rolled up newspaper or towel and place it in the window's path...then attempt to close the window. If the window does NOT stop when it begins to pinch the towel/paper (or sacrificial stuffed animal) and roll back down an inch or so...then the problem is your anti-trap mechanism. If it's not plugged in or has failed...auto up won't work.

When I retrofitted Genuine M5 mirrors and window modules and main switch on my E39.....it works straight away no coding needed.

I agree on Qsilver recommendation.

Btw Qsilver I want to let you know that killcrap seems to be right there is no initialization feature (or at least mine didn't respond to it)

I just talked to my wife and she said it never went auto up for her on her side too she always has to hold it so I guess I'm making a deal over nothing lol
Just get a copy of BMW Scanner 1.4 and the right cable and an old laptop running Windows XP and code it the way you want it. I have all my windows coded for one touch feature.

Good call - I will try anti-trap and let you know - you may be on to something - If it does work then I guess its just a feature that needs to be turned on -

I have a door carrier and window regulator clips ready to go in my door in the next week or so on that side so I will inspect wiring for anti-trap when its open as well

HOWEVER - if the anti-trap function DOES work currently, then perhaps killcrap was on to something in saying that the passenger side window switch might be fried and not enabling the feature?

Want to update I fixed my issue.

The body shop fixing some damage done by my dealer fiasco back in August connected the anti-trap back incorrectly (wrong harness) - I was doing my passenger door carrier and the 4 window regulator clips on the passenger side yesterday and fixed it while the door panel was off
