Rough Idle after CCV replacement w/ SES light
Hello fellow X5 members, I'm been having rough idle problems after the ccv replacement along with SES lights. Before the change the car was running fine and idling super smooth. I notice that I have been getting some white/cream paste on the oil cap and some on the end of the dip stick, so I figure it was a good time to change the CCV and good thing I did too. Once I disconnected the hoses from the CCV, the white/cream paste was running out and the CCV was quite noticeably heavier than the new CCV w/ insulation. After I have put everything back together and started the car, the engine would idle rough, so much that I can feel it in the seat. I would hear some loud ticking sound, guessing it was the DISA unit so I took it off and inspected it, the o-ring around it looks a bit rough so I put some gasket clement on it and let it dry and started it up again. It would idle better but would feel a bit of rumble in the seat still. Took it for a drive and it's fine if I'm pressing on the gas paddle(feels like a bit of a delay, but not sure) but when I come to a complete stop with the brakes pressed the needle would drop down very low like if it's going to stall but doesnt and idles rough for a bit(along with the rumble). SES lights came on and the codes ares
P0300 - Combustion Misfires Several Cylinders P1344 - Misfire During Start Cylinder 2 P1352 - Misfire During Start Cylinder 6 P1346 - Misfire During Start Cylinder 3 P1350 - Misfire During Start Cylinder 5 P1342 - Misfire During Start Cylinder 1 I have clear the codes but comes back on after driving for 5-10mins. I have even checked all the hoses and air hoses if they came loose and have no idea whats going on. Maybe I should have just left the CCV alone in the first place? Anyone got any ideas or experience with this issue??Thanks in advance.

Did you replace all the hoses when you did the CCV? Sound like a vacuum leak. How about the rubber boot at the throttle body? You can do a smoke to locate the leak.
Should buy a new o-ring if your Disa valve is leaking. There's enough info on the net on how to fix a Disa valve leak.

Problem solved, it was a leak but none of the hoses. It was the CCV and the Y-hose/pipe didnt connect correctly. Try to test it with a home made smoke system but failed miserably, until my old man told me to spray some throttle cleaner all over suspected area and hear if the rpm jumps up. Works perfectly and got the hoses connected properly. My advise for future DIYers is to mark the CCV and Y-hose/pipe with a marker connected before the installation so that you can easy check if it's connected properly once installed.
