Sorry to hear your X5 arrived so dirty, remember it's 5 years old and not everyone is as attentive to their cars as we are. Hopefully, a lot can be fixed with some elbow grease. The leather can be re-dyed if it's really bad. Used replacement parts can often be found on-line and with BMW specialty wrecking yards. Underneath the dirt and with a few replacements is a great ride. Don't give up. Good luck

I agree with Tomaz. Either spend a day (and a LOT of elbow grease) cleaning it up, or pay somebody a couple hundred bucks to do it, and you will have a great vehicle. I spent just a couple hours yesterday with the clay bar and wax, and even my 2005 was so much nicer in a hurry.

Think ugly duckling and swan!

Thanks, I love driving it. Got 23 MPG on the highway coming home from Salt Lake City 75-80 mph(that is where it was shipped to). I can deal with cleaning carpets and that stuff. But the leather is a bit of a concern. I tried Lexol and couldn't get the stains out. I have a # for a guy that does leather repair/reconditioning and if I can't get anywhere I'll have him come out. But you are right...it is a great vehicle.

I have a light leather too, pastel green. Some spots are oil based as are most leather cleaners so they don't work that well. Try on a test spot some simple green, it may lift the spot. Carefull though, if your leather is really worn, you could wear through the color to the leather.

Wow...didn't the dealership give pics or give internal condition?? If they won't clean it up, (no way is it delevery fault since its not on the exterior). Just do it yourself, looked a t the pics, might take some time. I live in NJ and regret it I really hate this state. WHen I got my Dodge van before, they gave me one with a broken engine and when i bought my 1st car before that (used) it came with a bad tranny. I got BMW new and it has been good so far.

They gave me pictures but they were not all that great. The floor had been covered with paper mats so it was hard to tell. I wasn't sure about the front seat but I had asked for pictures of it ahead of time too. I think that buying new would have been better across the internet but buying used is not for me anymore.
