steering angle abs dsc light - solved

Hi, I had a faulty dsc module, bought a new one, coded it, and now the new error is the steering angle sensor and other code as pictured. Now, before going to buy a new steering angle sensor, I was hoping someone could make out more sense out of the pictures. I could not access the memory car settings either. Thanks!!

There should be test plans for most faults. What test plans did you run (the two DSC faults)? What were the results?

Quick search of the web yielded this related thread. Follow the links inside the thread.

DIY - Code used E39 DSC module w/ NCS Expert

One of the links being this one about the End of Belt Test:

For Info: End of belt test

"Start the car, press and hold down the brake pedal. The red brake light and DSC arrow light should go off.. if not, shut off the car and repeat if needed

FROM WDS12:

Renewing the control module

After the DSC control module has been replaced, the following work must be performed in this order.

1. Coding

2. Calibration of the DSC sensors

Steering angle sensor
Rotation rate sensor
Lateral-acceleration sensor

3. End-of-line test (without driving curves with pressure sensor test)
The end-of-line test serves to check the DSC sensors in the plant at the end of the assembly line. This test is active on every factory-new DSC control module and it must therefore also be run every time a factory-new DSC control module is fitted.

Procedure for end-of-line test:

The sequence varies depending on the vehicle model and control-module version. Due to the identification of the DSC control module by the DIS tester, the following procedure results.

Disconnect the diagnostic plug to exit from the diagnostic mode.

Switch off the ignition for at least 10 seconds to perform a reset of the DSC.

Switch on ignition: After ignition on, the DSC indicator lamp, the ABS indicator lamp and the general brake warning light come on simultaneously (the end-of-line test is active).

Standstill calibration: Within the first 2 seconds after ignition on, the control module automatically runs the standstill calibration.

Check of the pressure sensor: After the standstill calibration, you must press the brake pedal strongly within 20 seconds (if necessary, start the engine).

The end-of-line test has been completed successfully when the DSC indicator lamp, the ABS indicator lamp and the general brake warning light come on.

Faults during end-of-line test:

If the end-of-line test is not concluded successfully (all indicators remain on), the DSC is not working and at least the fault ”6D end-of-line test not carried out” is entered in the fault memory with the status ”currently present”.

The end-of-line test must be repeated. If the end-of-line test fails a second time, it is likely that there is a fault in the area of the rotation rate and lateral-acceleration sensor. Run troubleshooting."

Didnt have time to read post but if you were doing something and the lights came on just turn wheel lock to lock to reset it

OK, so after playing around with the GT1, under the Service Functions tab, there was an option to reset the steering angle, basically asked to make sure the wheels were straight, and then hit continue, it read "no more faults stored" and then the abs dsc lights were gone ! (happy camper)

now, probably the hardest part, under function controls, you can have the gt1 display de angle, try to get it as close to zero, I played around with the steering wheel, and it is hard, closest I got was either one, or negative one.

so no more lights, now to see what's up with my DSP.

Thanks !!!
