How difficult was the Vanos portion? It seems like the chains and vanos should be done simultaneously in most cases.

It was pretty difficult actually. The teflon rings are a pain in the butt to get in there and I used a real heat gun. The press the sell you requires a very large vice and a 1/2 " breaker bar.

The results are very good though. Even after changing the guides and tensioner, it still made the death rattle noise at start up until I rebuilt the VANOS.
